Combining her own distinctive style and exquisite
sense of colour she is renowned for practising the ancient art of
enamelling, the process of fusing glass to metal. As her ideas develop and with the influence of new
technology her work is constantly evolving with a new collection introduced
each year.
Her latest work is the result of extensive research
into the design and application of fine enamel transfers. These patterns
are designed on a computer, printed as a transfer then fired on to
a base coat of white opalescent enamel. This technique has enabled
Jane to create much finer, more intricate patterns that clearly show
the influence of Japanese print design, while the surrounding oxidised
silver adds a feeling of 1950's nostalgia
