Established and respected for her distinctive work, Jane Moore has been a strong presence in British jewellery and craft for more decades than she cares to admit.  With its whimsical charm and attention to detail, her jewellery is an authentic expression of a warm, outgoing personality and instantly recognisable to fans of contemporary jewellery. She is prolific in developing her unique aesthetic to create new designs that are sensitive, considered and beautifully made. Her energy and enthusiasm are unwavering.

Jane’s inspiration comes from the simple silhouettes of traditional Japanese artefacts and textiles embellished with tiny, floral motifs. She also recalls vivid memories of her Mother’s intricate embroidery.  Ideas begin as drawings in her sketch book, where they can evolve unconstrained by the limitations of the process. Only when she arrives at a pleasing image does she begin to consider whether it is technically possible. While enamelling is rooted in traditional techniques Jane also embraces more modern, industrial methods, such as photo etching, laser cutting, or the application of fine enamel transfers.

Examples of enamelled jewellery are among some of the oldest and most beautiful manmade artefacts ever discovered. Similarly Jane’s pieces stand the test of time, both in quality and style, continuing to bring joy to their collectors.

Throughout her career Jane has shown her work at various UK contemporary craft fairs including Goldsmiths’ Fair, Origin and MADE. It has featured in landmark exhibitions such as Made In The Middle and the ACJ’s 20:20 Visions.  International exposure has included regular appearances at The New York Gift Fair, EUNIQUE Karlsruhe Germany and SIERAAD Amsterdam. Meanwhile her unique jewellery designs have featured prominently in dozens of reputable, contemporary craft galleries across the UK and internationally. In 2006 Jane received the prestigious Kayman Award from the National Association of Jewellers (formerly the British Jewellers Association).

From 2000-2008 Jane was proprietor of her own gallery in Leamington Spa - Jane Moore Contemporary Jewellery. She presented a wide range of work by fellow jewellers and curated regular, themed exhibitions, including an annual show of work made by graduates from the Birmingham School of Jewellery. She also offered a unique, 12 month + residency for a graduate to work along side her in the workshop at the rear of the gallery. She gave them access to equipment and invaluable support and mentoring at the start of their careers. Her eldest son, John Moore, was one such graduate who continues to benefit from his mother's incredible love and support as he develops his own practice. Jane has taught jewellery making and enamelling in further and higher education, and continues to teach privately from her studio in Leamington Spa. To find out more contact Jane directly.

Jane is an active member of The British Society of Enamelers (BSOE), and the Association of Contemporary Jewellery (ACJ).
